Aftercare Instructions
To ensure a good healing of the tattoo and to reduce the risks, it is important to follow the aftercare instructions.
Please note that different artists may have different aftercare instructions, but these instructions are recommended by Noctum
At Noctum, we use three different protection methods depending on the tattoo and the location: Protective pad, film or second skin
Protective pads
We use the protective pad to protect large pictures. The protective pad should be kept on until the next morning and after that follow the aftercare instructions.
Cling Film
We use the film for smaller tattoos that are in a place where second skin does not stay easily. The film is kept for 2-3 hours, after which the aftercare begins
Second Skin
Second skin is a thin film that we put over small tattoos. The first film is held approx. 24 hours and after that the tattoo is washed well, dried, and a new film is applied, which can be on the skin for 4-5 days. Second skin should be completely removed if it comes off in such a way that the tattoo is exposed. Second skin is not recommended if there is an allergy or sensitivity to the adhesive surface
After removing the protective layer, wash the tattoo thoroughly with neutral soap and dry it with a new towel while pressing gently.
Start moisturizing only 2-3 days after getting the tattoo
(With the second skin, start moisturizing after removing it).
For moisturizing, use cream intended for tattoos. We sell tattoo creams at the studio. When buying from a pharmacy, we recommend Eucer's Aquaphor.
Moisturize the tattoo 2-3 times a day with a thin layer.
Avoid sports and excessive sweating for 4 days.
Avoid swimming and saunas for 2 weeks.
Avoid sunbathing for a month.
Always use SPF 50 sunscreen when you are in the sun.
When the tattoo starts to peel, do not scratch it or pick off the scab.
After the tattoo has complitely healed, continue to moisturize it daily with regular cream.
